Obituary - Ed Begley, Jr.

Doug Powers | Saturday, September 29, 2012 | | | Best Blogger Tips
Noted actor and environmentalist Edward James “Ed” Begley, 63, died September 27 in his California home.  The “green-living” activist was crushed when a 10,000 gallon underground water tank he was having delivered slipped off the natural fiber rope that attached it to the solar-powered crane that was hoisting it into position. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Begley’s body will be rendered out to make soap for use by his widow Rachelle Carson-Begley and their daughter Hayden, the rest of his soft tissue will be used for compost in the family’s organic vegetable garden, and his bones will be used to make tools and implements for use around the home.
